Bumps and Photos and Grandma's - Oh My!

A lot has changed in the Eppler household in the last month, not the least of which has been the size of my belly!  I am officially feeling like a real-life pregnant lady with a bump to show for it.  Here are some photos of my bump at 19 weeks and 22 weeks to illustrate my point.

We had our 20 week Ultra Sound on April 22nd.  As soon as we got into the room, Kris made sure to tell the technician that we did NOT want to know the gender, so she was very careful to refer to our little peanut as "Baby" rather than "He" or "She".  It was really fun to see our little peanut moving around again.  We got a few more waves, a few foot shots and some pretty good profile photos.  Everything is looking perfectly healthy and happy inside there and despite the size of my belly, our baby was weighing in at 13 oz in April.  I'd say by now, we've likely crossed into the 1-lb range!

Aside from all of this growing, we've been making some home updates too!  Kris painted our downstairs bathroom with some color inspiration from John Edward's boycave.  We found a pretty awesome dresser at the Goodwill for $30 that needed a bit of love and some of Kris's spray painting magic - and we officially have a dresser for all the guests who will come to see our new addition this fall.  Next up on the home projects includes finishing the landscaping around the perimeter of the house and painting the nursery.  With a full docket of projects, we have been pumped that the days have been getting longer and warmer.

Mom likes color - but maybe these are too bold for Baby Eppler?

After four tries, we selected the light teal on the right.

Last weekend, we got a visit from Gramma - all the way from the big PA.  She really helped us get our life in order, providing insight on plant selection, paint colors and mini blinds.  We had a really fun day checking out every aisle at the Babies R'US with Oma.  Baby Eppler is sure lucky to have two pretty fabulous grandmas to meet this fall.

Tune in next time when we show off some of our landscape selections!

Catching up with the April Showers

It has been a busy month in the Eppler household.  Baby Eppler has made trips to Champiagn, Springfield, Lake Havasu and a few side trips in between.  From what I can tell, Baby Eppler least likes wearing the hair net and bump cap out of all the wardrobe options.

Attached are a few photos of the Baby Eppler growing as a little bump.

In other household news, we have been hard at work to get our house ready for the spring.  We've picked up every single exterior paint chip in the greater Kenosha area, including samples from Menards, Home Depot, True Value, Ace Hardware, Lowes and Sherwin-Williams.  You'll be surprised to find out that they are nearly all the same!

Things are getting exciting as we are starting to feel like this little peanut might be real!  We have cleared out the former Arts & Crafts room to make room for our little addition and hope to get some paint on the walls in the next few weeks.

More photos to follow soon on our household projects - and more ultra sound photos to follow soon as well.  We have our 20-week anatomy ultra sound 1 week from today and we hope those nurses can keep the baby gender a secret!

It is official - the Eppler household will be growing this September!

Kris and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting a baby, due September 10, 2013.  It has been a quiet winter, laying low to keep our little secret, but the cat is finally out of the bag and we couldn't be happier to share our news.

Pregnancy has been pretty good to me so far.  I have been feeling great, if not a bit tired most nights.  I feel like it is starting to become obvious in my waistline that I have a passenger, so I will keep this blog updated with some belly bump photos as we go along.

We have had two ultra-sound appointments.  The first one was at 9 weeks and our little peanut looked like just that, a tiny shelled peanut.  The second appointment at nearly 13 weeks showed us that we have a little wiggle worm who has discovered fingers and is working on getting them into their mouth!  We could not believe what a change in the size of the baby over just four weeks, and we are really looking forward to the 20 week mark when we get to see our little peanut once again.

Please check back to our blog as we update our life - decorating a nursery, learning from our more experienced friends and getting all of our no-children-allowed events out of the way before September.  If anyone is interested in a bar buddy for the next few months, please give Kris a call because I am currently a pretty cheap date!

Welcome!

Welcome to our little corner of the Internet, our own little News Nook!  I hope you'll join us back here with some regularity to catch up on life on Eppler Acres.  Kris and I are new homeowners and I have been having a great time finding the right place for all of our projects.
